The Denver Temple and Family!

This past weekend I went to Denver. I know I am really pregnant but my midwife said it was OK! So, I left PG at home with Daddy and went to Denver with Manda , Tahlia, Mom and Dad. It was a short trip but a very good one! I think I am going to take today off, drink LOTS of water and try to get my ankles, sausage toes, hands etc...to go back to their normal size!

Here is Papa and Tahlia waiting at the airport in SLC for our flight to DEN.
the reason we went to DEN was to go to the temple with David. What a wonderful reason to go to the DEN I think! We are so proud of him for his progress and dedication! WE LOVE YOU DAVE!!!
Here is the group of us that went to the temple. It was a beautiful Day!!!
After the temple we picked up the babies at the sitter and went back to Dave's to rest before dinner. Here is Darin with his hands full! Fortunately for him neither were crying...and actually were both rather content. Dave thought ahead and called Uncle Bob and Aunt Shirley (Dad's sister) to come for dinner and hang out with the family. I haven't seen them in several years. Heather I am not sure had ever met them. It was so good to see them again. We had a great BBQ and took lots of pictures with everyone.
Here is our family that was there...minus mom...she had enough of being in pictures...

Aunt Shirley was excited to see the babies! When James woke up she got to talk to him. :o) After the pictures and we were sufficiently FULL, the babies laid down to play. James went back and forth between wanting his binki that fell and the big flower on Tahlia's head! I love the look on Tahlia's face...it is JUST like her mom! :o)

They batted at each other and played....

one of his favorites thought was licking her arm! :o)And she was so sweet with he little outfit and big flower that we have to include on of these too! :o)

Last Day of swimming lessons!

Today PG had his last day of swimming lessons. He did so good. Here is a little video of him jumping off the side and going under water. He doesn't really like the going under part but he was getting used to it. :o) He was happy at the end of class ... his teacher gave him a piece of candy. I was excited, they gave him a little certificate that I can put in his book. He did it! :o)
Good job little guy!!!

Bear Lake anyone?

On Saturday we didn't have anything to do so we decided to head north! After a VERY long 3 hour drive to Logan (it is only supposed to take just more than 1 hour)...We finally made it!!! (and there was much rejoicing from ME - since I was about to pass out from heat stroke!) We picked up Dave and Derek and headed further north to Bear Lake.
What good is a bear lake trip if you don't get a raspberry shake...it isn't any good at ALL! So we did that first!
Then we headed for the beach!
We think the swimming lessons must be paying off because PG just walked right out into the water, it was cold but he didn't care. He just had KJ's hand and kept walking, then after a little while he let go and wanted to walk on his own.
KJ kept picking up the wet sand and PG would take it and throw it back. It was a fabulous game...after a little bit of help he was able to bend down and get some for himself.
Here are the 4 boys playing in the water. Aren't they cute!! :o)
Derek prefered to stay on the shore, and PG followed for a little while, after all other people had shovels and buckets and balls to play with...sheesh! This is him after he stole someone sand stuff (they did say it was ok). He enjoyed the digging and the throwing.
Then he enjoyed getting all the sand washed off!

This is the little girl that he "borrowed" the sand toys from. I just couldn't resist taking his picture. She was so cute standing there looking so tired and worn out, eating her donut with powder all over her lips. She just stood there like that for like 5 minutes. The only part of her that moved was her arm putting the donut to her mouth. :o)

After he got sick of the sand PG and Daddy took a little walk. Can you guess what PG wanted to see? Bear lake is cool that it has a really LONG shallow area. It varies in depth from 0-25 inches or so (depending on where the sand deposits when the waves come in) then once you get out really far then it drops off. So, they just kept walking and it would get up to PG's chest and he would just keep going, he didn't care, he would just put his arms up, for some reason he didn't want to put his arms in above the elbow. it was cute to see him walking around chasing boats with his elbows above his ears. He is a funny one for sure!
Here is Derek Getting washed up and ready to go. He didn't really care for the cold water or the washing up part...or the leaving part for that matter! He just wanted to play in the sand. But alas it was time to go...because we had tickets to Pickleville Playhouse !!! It was so much fun!!! We had dinner and then watched the melodrama "Chuck Wagon" it was REALLY good. (Mindy had some church responsiblities to take care of during the day but was able to meet us in time for the play.)
It made for a really late night but it was worth it. It is fun to do cool things especially with family!

Bumper Car!

Here is a cute video of PG in his Car...

As you can see he is very proud of himself.
It was just too funny not to share!
Enjoy! :o)

BIG KRUCKS!!!!

Manda invited PG and I to go with her playgroup to the Kennecott Copper Mines. I originally wasn't able to go because is conflicted with my appointment with my midwife, but while I was out walking yesterday, her office called and she was sick and wasn't coming in today. So I rescheduled that appointment and busted a move out to Manda's so we could go with them. We made it just in time to leave to meet her friends.
I should have realized what time it was when we got there...PG was being a REAL PILL! But thanks to Ashton and later a stroller we were able to manage. (It was lunch time so he was cranky...we all do that when we are hungry I think! - not to mention that nap time is soon to follow lunch...that never helps! :o))

On to the pictures...Here is his view of the trucks busily going in and out of the mine...dumping their load into the crusher that takes the ore on a conveyor belt to the concentrator 3 miles away.
These are the haul trucks. Thanks to Manda and John we have really cool stats for them. (John works there at the Kennecott and Manda wrote the stuff on her blog! - Thanks guys! :) ) So, this truck is the size of a 2-story house on 6 wheels. Each tire costs $35,000!!! and they have to be changed every 9 months!!! This house on wheels holds 400 gallons of Fuel...aren't you glad you don't have to pay for that fill up at $4+/gallon!!! And it can carry tons of rock! It truly is amazing!
This is a look down into the mine, it doesn't look like much be the bottom is miles away.
This is one of those $35,000 tires that the haul trucks use. It is a little dwarfing! Ashton was my big helper! He ran around after PG with his monkey backpack! At this point he was trying REALLY hard to get over to the school buses that were parked right near the visitors center. He was NOT happy that we would not let him get on the bus!
Finally PG gave Ashton a break. For about a minute and a half! Ashton was so good, when he didn't want to chase him anymore he would bring him back to me and tell me "I done for a little bit." Then a little bit later he would come back and say, "I will take him now". It was very helpful!!! THANKS Ashton!

It was so hot and I am getting so big that it is getting harder to be patient with his fits and running around so I am glad for his help! Here he is mad that I wanted to take a picture with him...
We then went into the visitors center and I went and got Manda's stroller. And I happened to look at the time and realized...hey he is hungry! No wonder he is being a turkey!! (I know I am a genius!) So he sat in the stroller and ate pretzels with Ransom and Ashton.

Then we went to the park in Copperton and had some food and the kids could run and play. Then is was time to go...more for my sanity than anything else. Under the circumstances I think he actually did well, I was just hot and tired and at the end of my rope! Sorry little buddy, I am still human afterall!!! :o) But I love you anyway!

Anyway, thanks Manda for letting us tag along! It was way COOL!

popcorn and roadrash!

On Father's day we had popcorn as a little snack before bed...like we usually do on Sunday afternoons. PG loves popcorn, just like Me! :o) He took a handful and shoved it in his mouth...in the process, a piece got stuck...

up his nose...he didn't even seem to notice that it was there stuck in his snot! It was pretty funny...really GROSS, but pretty funny!

Then today, we were out for a morning walk and he had been standing on the back of the stroller, then he sat down on his little seat. Then he noticed the buckel, which he was trying so desperately to get a hold of so he could buckle it together...unfortunately he was sitting on it and he leaned too far over and fell off the stroller, right onto the road. He landed on his forehead then slid about an inch...

He was not happy with the whole thing, nor would I have been. But I did have my little first aid kit in the stroller so we were able to get him cleaned up and calm. Then we were able to continue. He was a brave little guy!

He now looks like he got into a really bad fight...but between him and the road, I think HE won...he got up and walked away! :o)

Speaking of Fathers...

I just have to blog this, it was so cute. Our friends, Tera and Isaiah, had their baby last Wed. Welcome Little Coleton! We went to see them in the hospital that night and PG promptly starts signing "baby" and saying it at the same time. He and I both washed our hands and I took the baby to hold. He walked over to me and put his arms out and said "baby"....

so we made him sit down by Isaiah and we let him hold the baby! It was very sweet. He even did a good job being "soft". This is all good practice!!! I think he is going to make a GREAT big brother! :o)

Happy Father's Day!!

I just wanted to tell all the Father's in our lives how much I love and appreciate all you do.

I have always been a "Daddy's Girl", and I want my Dad to know that I love you SOO much. Over the years you have done so much for me and my friends and now my family that I don't think I have enough hugs and kisses to say thanks! He is usually the one that gives me the hugs that make all the bad things in the world go away! I really hope you enjoy your trip! You and Mom deserve it! You are the Best...THANKS!!!

And to the other Major Dad in my life, KJ, I don't know if I have words to tell you how much I love you!!! You are everything I have ever wanted and needed. You are a wonderful Dad! And you have been a FANTASTIC husband, you put up with my complaining and you are always willing to run upstairs to get me a snack before bed. Thanks for all you do for our family!
You are AMAZING, and I hope we show you how much we appreciate you enough!

Happy Father's Day!

a few days ago...

The other day some kids came and visited a neighbor and even though they left their bikes upsidedown...they did leave them unattended. PG thought it was wonderful for them to leave them for him to climb on and he got to spin the wheel. Then only down fall for me, other than chasing him off, was the grease stain on his bum from sitting on the chain. I have never seen a kid sooo happy as him when he is "aht" and has "krucks" or "bik-k"'s to play on....especially if they are someone else's! He is so fun to watch!!!

He had to be outside and it was cold and wet, but that doesn't seem to matter, he was soaking in as much of outside as he could before I would make him come in. (you know for some crazy reason like lunch or nap!)
But he was a bit chilly so he found this blanket and wanted to be wrapped up in it.
It was so cute to watch him walk around and sit in his blanket...he even road his bike wearing his blanket.
He was just so sweet!
He tipped his car and was trying to crawl up through where his legs are supposed to go but the car kept rocking forward when his weight would shift. But he gave it a good effort! :o)

Party time!

Here are a few pictures from the party. Here are Manda's boys and PG, I missed the picture of PG trying to wrestle with Ransom! It was kinda funny!!!

I love little boys! They are so cute!
Here is PG eating/wearing his pop rock ice cream! It thought it was a fabulous "party for his mouth too!"
This is little Tahlia! This just like her mother - sucking on her fingers and playing with her hair!
she is a sweety!
This is an attempt to show how long her eyelashes are. They do curl up and almost hit the bottom of her eyebrows. They are so pretty!
Maybe you can see better from this angle!

Anyway, kids are great! It was great to hang out with family and friends to have some fun!

My Birthday creations!!!

Last week was my birthday...and it seems that we celebrated a little everyday between Wed and Sunday! I love when that happens! :o)
These are the chocolate berry cups that I made for my birthday party Saturday night. I saw in a magazine that you can make cups from melted chocolate and just paint them up the sides...then I put blackberries, blueberries and strawberries inside then topped it with cream cheese icing! Yes, there were as tasty as they sound! :o)
This is my cake. I love rice crispy treats!!! YUMMY!! and I got the cool Castle cake Set from Wilton. Isn't it fabulous!!! :o) OK so it is not my best cake but it sure is fun and it matched the pop rock ice cream! (it's a party for you mouth and you are the guest of honor!)
This is the cake that I made for family dinner on Sunday for all the June birthdays. (Happy Birthday to ME, and Ashley and Doug!!) The bottom was carrot cake and the top part was rice crispys. (that is why the top looks like it has boils...they are the Peanut M&M's! But Ashley seemed very pleased to have a princess castle for a cake!

Lagoon Day

Just over 36"!!! KJ told the ride guy that PG was tall enough to go on a ride alone (strapped in), the guy said that he had to be measured... and he had to concede that yes, PG IS over 36" in height.

And here he is on that ride... what a big kid!
Here we are on a ride... PG seems a little distracted by the earth flying by.
I had just as much fun going on the roller-coaster as PG did, there's just something about roller-coasters... Maybe it's just because I have PA and she's not allowed on most of them.
He's going to look at this when he's older and say "See! I'm great in a car, can I borrow the keys?"
The Merry-Go-Round is always fun for kids of all ages! :o) It is one of my favorites for sure.
Here's my 2 boys going up and down, up and down!!!
We had to pry PG off the ride, and the line was virtually non-existent so we hopped in line and went again...this time PG rode on a rocking bear...he thought it was great, it was just his size!
One more ride on the car and then headed to lunch...there was a little boy afraid to go by himself so he went with PG, I think they enjoyed it....from the plastered smiles on their faces.
