cookies, nativity and presents!!!

Just before Christmas Manda and I got together and exchanged presents with the kids. She decided it would be fabulous to make some cookies with the kids before we did presents. I conquered. So, we made Holly Wreaths (my roomates used to call them Booger Cookies, because they are green) :o)

Here is Manda with her help...

look at Ashton go! Stir buddy stir! Man I love his sticker! :o)
Then it was present time...Tahlia and PD loved eating the paper! The boys loved their gifts too!
Christmas Eve we spent at KJ's mom's house. We dressed up and did the nativity scene...Derek was a shepherd and PG was the sheep! He looked SOOO cute...you should have seen his little tail. It was the cutest thing ever!
Doesn't he look SOOO wise! I am not sure the Wise Men stood like THAT!
And PD was our beautiful Angel! She was busy, she had to appear to Mary, Joseph and the shepherds. She was magnificent!
I think it is time to go, when the host is falling asleep during the festivities! :o) Heehee!
It was really time to go however, we had to get home and get the kids to bed so Santa could come.
THis maybe our last year, but PG doesn't really "get" Christmas yet so he slept in until 8am! It was Wonderful! Isn't this a great picture!!!
PG with his hand in the goodie...stocking!
PD with her hands on the PAPER!
PG got a tunnel...He LOVES it!
He likes to stand in it and then let go of the top so it will spring up! Then he just laughs and laughs. We do too!! He also loves to dance inside of it!
Merry Christmas! I hope your Christmas was as wonderful and Safe as ours! May your new year be a fabulous one!!!

The tree....FINALLY!

There she is...in all the splendor of a belated decorating FHE!
Like I said before, I haven't made time for decorating, other things have seemed more important, like finding our clothes and painting...
But KJ insisted that we decorate even though it is just a few days before Christmas...I am glad, because it is s

As per tradition....we had to lay under the tree...this is my favorite part of decorating the tree!

and I think PD liked it too! :o)
(I am glad that we have a soft tree!!)

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Candy houses

It is that time of year again....
Christmas time is my FAVORITE time of year! I LOVE to decorate and bake and celebrate the true joy of the season! This year the season has had a bit of a damper on it, since we have been trying to get settled into our new home. I have been painting and moving and trying to empty boxes and keep my sanity all at the same time, so "Christmas" has been put on the back burner!
But slowly a few things are still happening, like candy houses...
Yeah for candy!
Hard at work....and hard at eating!
Now that is HAPPINESS...unlimited candy before bed!
chuck decorating...he just liked to dip the candy into the icing and eat the icing and dip again! YUM
There they are!
and this is what happenes when you make a chocolate roof and the sun comes out!

Incase we didn't learn from Willy Wonka... or Hansel and Gretle for that matter....you shouldn't live in a candy house!

Grandma's last party

We braved the weather to visit Rigby ID for Grandma Pabst's last party! I know that she would want us to view it as her party, where we celebrate life, the life we have left and the life that she will now have forever with her sweetheart! Like I said it is Happy for her, and Sad for US!

Here are her children! They look fabulous!
Daddy, KJ, and Dave chatting waiting for the dedication to begin. It was SOOO cold! the wind was howling and snow was blowing around. We all huddled close together in the little blue tent. Gives a new meaning to family closeness!
There they are, together again!
Here we are huddled!
I just had to put this one in, gotta love Army issue! (or Air Force issue, I guess...)
We love you Grandma! We will see you again in the future!

PD is 4 Months!!!

Man time flies....Here she is, at her 4 month debut...

She is already showing an interest in computers...this makes her Daddy VERY happy.
(he told me that I was allowed a child that was a pilot - if he could have a girl programmer....
I told him that was fine, except they had to WANT to be that!!)

But I did make this shirt for him!
She ALWAYS has her fist in her mouth...so it is hard to get a picture of her way cute smile!
she is still WAY cute though!
Here she is sporting her new clothes, we had to move her up to 6-12 mo. clothes...
she is just so tall!
If you can't see that she is tall for yourself!
But there she is, our big girl!!

Little Blessings!

This week we will be once again traveling to ID for another funeral. This will be the 3rd on in KJ's family this year. And this is the one that is the saddest for me, (and KJ) I have never been close to my grandmothers, I have never known my grandfathers....so Grandma Pabst was the closest I have ever come. I got to meet Grandpa Pabst once before he died in Feb. j
ust after we got married. I really liked him.
All the years that I have gone to the family reunion in Rigby I have been accepted and loved by Grandma! (the only thing that could keep me from going to ID in July was Adara's impending birth...I was due two days after the reunion and Grandma told me that I BETTER not come or she would kick me!) That is how she was, energetic, full of life and oppinions! :o) She has made a big difference in my life and I am glad that I got her for a Grandma for the few years that I did. She taught me to laugh and it truely doesn't matter how old or feeble you may be/feel there is always something happy to be found. She did a lot of service for others and her hugs, smiles and humor were unparalleled! She was an amazing woman with a full life...
We will miss you Grandma!(this was in April - I think that face says it all!!) :0D

We are really glad that we were able to take the trip a few weeks ago to ID, we were able to see her and get pictures with the kids.
PG loved helping her sew...it was all about the pins but still I love the admiration in his eyes!
She saw Eric giving the kids rides...so she of course wanted a turn! She is always good for a laugh!
4 Generations of beautiful Pabst's
Happiness!!!!
We love you and will miss you tons Grandma.
We are happy for you and Grandpa but sad for us!

The moment we have been waiting for!!!!!

After what has seemed like an eternity....we finally are home owners!

The pic is a bit blurry but here it is...KJ carrying me over the threshold!
It really is ours, we have the keys for it an everything.
We actually signed the papers yesterday but were unable to get the keys until today. So we picked up the keys and took our first load of boxes over to the house. We have to do some painting and mold control and replace the water heater and fix the deck but all and all it is in pretty decent shape and we are excited to get to work so we can move in in a week or two.

We even had our first house guests! Notice the couches...they are only one of the MANY things that we inherited with the house along with some lamps, a desk, tools and tons of other things...it is fun to discover all the extras that we get too. :)
I am excited to get cleaning and painting so I can decorate for Christmas! We have a great Bay window for our Christmas Tree!!!!
Until later, there you have it....we are now up to our eyeballs in debt....I mean Homeowners!
PS, it was really cute, I asked PG if we should live here...and said "yeah!" it was really cute!!!

Happy #2 Little Guy!

Here it is...PG's cake! If you only know 1 thing about PG it is probably that he LOVES trucks, so it stands to reason that I would make him one for his cake!
I personally like the fire hydrant and hose, it is my favorite part!

It was so funny, I lit the candle and he blew it out, so I lit it again...and he did it again,
he wasn't waiting for the singing....he just wanted to blow out the candle.
Finally Isaiah lit it and I held his mouth until we got through the song!

He liked the presents...Thanks Aunt Manda and family for the blocks!
And Thanks Moore Family for the truck! :o)
(the best was Grandma was giving him a hard time about putting the paper on the floor, (she was teasing) so he would tear it off and look at her as he threw it on the floor and LAUGH! it was funny!
Daddy liked the card from Tera and Isaiah...wind in the sails!
And we got him a tent! He really likes it. and it is big. I wasn't expecting it to be that big, but I am glad that it is.
Happy Birthday Big Guy!! We love you!

Happy Turkey Day!

We really are very blessed. We have a wonderful family and family. We are blessed to have the gospel in our home and food on the table. We have a job that pays for life and soon to be a house.
Thank you Heavenly Father for ALL you have given us...we really are grateful! We love you!!!

We had 2 Thanksgivings and PG had 2 Birthdays...We had one of each at Jon's Mom's house the night before Thanksgiving. Gene and his family were in town....
Here PD meets her Aunt and Uncle! She loves the attention! :o)
after yummy food we sang to PG and he got to blow out his candles.....
After dinner and cake, the kids got to play....Here is PG playing with Uncle Allen in the teepee.
(I was happy to see that he was enjoying the tent...since I bought him a tent for his birthday!)
On Thanksgiving we went to Joy's house...the kids had fun playing....
Tahlia wanted to know what this thing does...
Luck for Papa, PG got it figured out!
This was the sunset in Hyde Park on Thanksgiving evening as we took the kids to the park to get some energy out. It was great fun to hang out with my Sisters to the park and back, and we also had an adventure on Black Friday....Joy and Manda only wanted to go to Target...the closest one to Logan is in Ogden, so at 5 am we drove to Ogden and spent a good part of the day shopping. It was a fun adventure, but I was TIRED!
And when spending Thanksgiving at Joy's you can't neglect the "annual 7-11 run" for hot chocolate! This year, D-S did NOT eat all the marshmallows...so he is invited again next year! :o)
Happy Turkey Day!!!
