Farmington Bay adventure!

This morning we went on an adventure....
In search of birds....
birds? you say...
yes...bald eagles to be exact.
Every year in Feb. the bald eagles come to Farmington Bay to nest. When it gets warmer they head north further. I always remember too late and the eagles are mostly gone...so this is what we found today...
this really pretty black bird with red and yellow on it, and it had the most beautiful song.
this is the same bird zoomed in!
We found 2 bald eagles chilling on this tree...
this is what we could see through the binoculars....:o)
We saw a total of about 10 bald eagles, tons of those black birds, ducks and seagulls, and several hawks. then on our way back our of the bird refuse we saw this one, on a tree right in this parking lot that we pulled into. so we were not far from the tree and it was at the top about 50 feet I would say. It was SOOOO cool to be that close! :o)
a little more zoomed in on little baldy - then a helicopter flew by and scared it off...
Freedom!
They are HUGE and BEAUTIFUL birds!
It was a successful adventure I would say! :o)

few random updates....

This is a random post...lots of pics that have been in the camera for a while so here they are...
This is my brood cuddled up for bedtime stories! They LOVE to read stories!
I had my pot out for something and PD looked so cute sitting in it...it is a "Pot of Dara"
PG loved to just take it away from her so he could put the lid on and sit ON it....unfortunately I didn't get a pic of that. :o(
I learned to make noodles. This is homemade chicken noodle soup with homemade whole wheat noodles....it was REALLY yummy! PD had 4 bowls! When her's was empty she would move on to someone else's...it was funny!
For Christmas, PD got a "rice table"....I finally got it out the other day so they could try it out.
They ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!
The only down fall is the amount of rice that escapes the bucket! But it keeps them entertained for 40+ minutes! THAT is nice! :o)
Grandma Buckman came to visit one night and brought over this swing for the kids. They were happy to get a swing and very happy to see Grandma and Allen.

Perspective...

TA-DA!!
This is what daddy sees when he is playing "airplane" with PG
This is what PG sees when he looks up to daddy!

and this one too! :o) hahahaPG has been having fun with the camera, here are few more from his perspective....
my belly making breakfast...
his "sandwiches" made from the left over fabric from the new baby's quilt I made.

Happy Valentine's Day!

On our first V-day back when we were dating, I got a single red rose, chocolate and a hand drawn card. This year...
I got the same. :o) I love MY man! My rose is STILL beautiful! (as you can kind of see since I actually took this pic yesterday. :o) )
PD got chocolate from our fav. Valentine group in PA, she was HAPPY!
PG was happy too...he just ate his faster! :o)
Look at the face! she is TOO cute!!! :o)

Day 10 of Valentine's Day....

The other day I had a really hard day with the kids...so it was the perfect day for this wonderful Valentine;s present for daddy! (Every year I do the "14 days of Valentine's day - I started it when we were dating and I have kept it up...it gets tricky being inexpensive and creative every year but we make it through and KJ loves it!)
So for Day 10 Daddy got to take the kids on an icecream date. PG and PD had a GREAT time!!
hey wouldn't you if you got ice cream and a chance to ride in Daddy's car and to play at a play place?
They are a good looking group!
It was great for me too...I got to take a nice bath with lavender and do my hypnosis! I think Daddy should do these dates more often! :o)

They sure looked they they had fun! :o)

The Planetarium...

On Saturday, we decided to do some family things to celebrate Valentine's Day. So we took the kids to the planetarium and saw a 3-D movie about bugs...PG calls it the movie that "the bugs jumped off the screen". :o)
After the movie they had SO much fun exploring the place. "Newton's daydream"
Mars...
and Making faces on the Moon!
For those of you wondering if it is true...there is the proof. 35 weeks...It may have been nice to actually be on the moon since I would be lighter there ... right?
They were haveing this huge party at the planetarium to celebrate their new movie opening about Space Pirates. So they had little stations around that the kids could do little activities and learn about science. How about electromagnetic fields.
At the end they got free movie tickets and autographs from the actual actors from the pirate movie. PG was so happy! He talks about it everyday! :o)

03 February 2010

a really LONG update...

Instead of doing individual post for everything that is going on I decided to be somewhat lazy and to it all in one marathon post!
for starters...a little random fun...PD tickling PG...
you always warn the older ones that someday the "baby" will grow up! She had definately done that, and whatever brother does...she will do also - including "MINE" and hitting and yelling, and laughing!! (not all are bad, I guess)
We cleaned out the garage and I found our little tent. PG was SO excited and he actually slept in it for 2 weeks before he ripped it out of his room and made a HUGE mess...it got put away!
They found a roll of paper and thought it made a great chair. They are very funny. (PG put it there himself!)
To help with cabin fever we have "re-discovered" jumping jacks. PD wasn't too sure, but PG has now gone a 2nd time with Ransom and they played for 2 hours. It was great....if you want to come, just let me know! :o)
PD wanted to have her time in the tent too...she is so cute!
She sat and played on my itouch! She LOVES it! (PG does too!)
PG still loves his airport that Santa brought him, it is still the most loved toy!
We went to Logan for the day and I was helping PD out of the cart at a store, I was one handed so I was helping her up with one hand so I could grab her out of the cart...and I pulled her elbow out...it is a common childhood thing called "nurse maids elbow" after a nap and a very unhappy visit to the instacare they put it back in place and ended up splinting it because she wouldn't use it still.
So, she walked around all gimpy for a day or 2 and still no improvement, so back to another instacare for x-rays...they found nothing wrong but said give it a few more days and then take the brace off...so we did. Come thursday night (it happened on Saturday - so 5 days later) she STILL would SCREAM if you took the brace off or touched it or even looked at it wrong. She would move her elbow just fine but not her wrist and hand....so Friday we went to our Pediatrician, and got more x-rays...and still nothing. SO we kept the brace off and finally by sun/mon. she is using it again, normally...I guess she is overly sensitive to pain or too stubborn to forget what it felt like. :o)
I took Manda's kids for the morning while she went for her ultrasound and to keep them entertained we did some finger painting.
The boys were ALL about the MESS...PD was in on it too...
But poor Tahlia didn't want much to do with it. But they all had a great time! It was fun!
On their last full day here, the exchange students wanted to build a snowman. The snow was OLD so it was crusty and icy so KJ went out and helped them. They cut sections of snow out of the yard with a shovel and stacked them up and added all the assessories...He turned out CUTE!
His name is "Little Potato" (it is a funny joke with KJ and the boys....Little Potato is supposed to be in Portuguese but they never told me how to spell it...so you will have to figure that out on your own. :o)
Here they are...We are sad they are gone
Paulo, "Antigo" and "Luigi" - we will miss you!
(Just so you know, when we left the airport after dropping you off, the whole way home PG kept saying..."let's go back and get them, I don't want to miss them!" Good luck with everything you want to do in Life! Keep in touch!)
PD has discovered sitting in boxes...it is a favorite passed time these days! :o)
I told PG we were going to go get Ransom and go to Jumping Jacks but he had to be a good listener...and for some reason he turned into a good HELPER too...He put PD's shoes and Coat on for me! It was really cute. and when I took the pic, PD turned and said "Cheese!!"

Until next time....
