Pum-pin!
I love it!! Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year! It is fun to carve pumpkins and dress up, decorate, corn mazes and kiddy haunted houses (I am not a big fan of things that are too scary!) and eat candy...and not feel as guilty! :o) Ok, so maybe that last part isn't true but Halloween is Spook-tacular!
Tradition continued this year and for Family Home Evening last night we carved our pumpkins...
or as PG says "PUMPIN"
This is really PG's first experience with this, he didn't really help last year, not really interested. So this year was fun, we got him started and let him do it.
He is so funny, his hand would be fully extended in order to get it out of the pumpkin and into the pile of goop!Handfuls of goop! and he really didn't mind the feeling...he just pulled it out...
but what he really wanted....
was the KNIFE...fortunately someone brilliant came up with these fabulous knives that are GREAT for cutting the pumpkin and NOT cutting the child! So we just gave it to him and let him go.... We helped with the shapes but he did a lot of the cutting on his own...
Then when we would pull the shape out, he spent some time making him pumpkin a shape sorter...he was trying to put the eye back in.
Daddy wanted him to carry his own pumpkin to the porch...it was a bit big and awkward and heavy but he got it out of the kitchenbarely!
PD was cute, just sat there and smiled while we worked...We just drew a face for her's! (she didn't really care!)
Here are the finished products...KJ, Mine, PG and PD's you cant see because it wasn't cut...But there it is with the fam.
SO FUN!!!!

big boy news!
BOO!
Here he is in the box again...I
think (1q`1 qq1aw- typed PG!!!!!) it scares him to go in head first so he gets down on all fours and scooches in backwards! It is tooo funny!
Yesterday I was doing some laundry and he decided to help me fold some clothes...well he found one of PD's sleepers and decided that it was the perfect coat. He looks good with tails! :o)
you will notice that he is in it for all the pictures...I was able to talk him out of it at nap time!
Here he is, he has figured out that if he laughs and talks to PD she will smile and "talk" back, so he knelt there for like 10 minuts just laughing and she just sat there talking and talking! It was really sweet!
Then he found the crown. What a perfect match for his ansamle! I told him I needed to see the crown for the picture, so this is what I got! (heehee!!)

too cute not to post...
CHEESE!!
When I (or anyone) tells PG to say "cheese" for a picture...he obediently signs...
"Cheese"!
What a good kid!
The other day I got PD dressed for the day and she is just so dang cute in the mornings.
This is the best time of day for her smiles to surface.
and the outfit was cute...thus the pictures!
Then PG had to join the fun of the dangly-things!
Sometimes he just wants to be a baby still...

Last day with family....
So the family started departing on sunday and by monday afternoon everyone was gone but Anna and Zach. Anna wanted to go to her happy place (aka the family history library) so Zach came to my house to hang out. Since he likes hanging out with girls his own age, and I am the cool aunt, I thought I would take him up to Logan to hang out with Melissa.
While we were there, surprise, surprise, PG needed some time to run outside, so we borrowed the pink scooter and played outside for a while. Well, Aunt Joy came out to watch and PG gave her the pink scooter, so she decided to ride it around the drive way a few times.
PG wanted to join her fun so she put him on the handlebars and kept on going. We all thought it was fabulous fun, watching Joy giggle like a little girl as she got up speed then picked her feet up to coast around in circles. And she did it long enough to for us to get pictures! :o)
Ashley abandoned her bike so PG thought he would give it a try.
Here is Melissa practicing with her "commas"...they are scary!
But Joy prefered the syths. Hi-yah!
Later that night we came back home and Z and Anna prepared to leave.
So now the family is all back to their "normal" lives and I feel a bit sad from the emptiness.
It will pass but I love having my family around.
I love you all!!!

Day 7...a blessed day!
On the 12th of October 2008 was Adara's blessing day!
She was SO happy! As were we. With the renivations going on at Mom and Dad's causing most of my siblings being here it was a blessed day indeed.
We woke up to this, and it continued to snow off and on the rest of the day too.
It was beautiful too!
and fortunately with it being a fall snow it wasn't unbearably cold.
Here is our little princess in her princess dress.
She was so beautiful and well behaved for the whole thing. And the blessing was short but wonderful. She has some great gifts that I look forward to seeing developed. I am so happy that she is a part of our family. She makes our home a little more complete. We love you 'Dara!
She was tired and done smiling, but I had to get a pic with her before she went to bed.
After church we went to Mom and Dad's for a little luncheon.
Day 6....October White Christmas!
We started our Saturday of Family fun with a trip to the temple. It was nice to be in the temple for starters and even better to be there with family! It was a great way to start off our holiday celebration day. It really set the tone for a great get-together!
This was such a good picture, I just had to share!
You guys look great!
He is too funny! HE loves big shoes (bigger than his own) because he can get them on himself!) and he just walks around and loves it!
This was my house full of girls. Sara, Kira and Ri were there all week then Melissa and Fish joined us for the weekend.
Here is the picture with all the siblings that were able to make it.
(Dan we really missed you and your family! Hopefully next time it will work out better!
We had Thanksgiving Dinner on Halloween plates...
Then we celebrated Christmas
as it snowed outside...It was a white Christmas in October!
Happy Hallow-Thanks-Christ!!!!!
Day 5...
Today the Work on the house was done so we wwnt shopping in the morning, then went back to give the kids naps and get ready for Alycia's birthday party.
After the kids got up they helped us make funfetti-cut-out-cookies! IT was great fun. They really liked eating the dough, especially Kira!
Now the anticipation for when it will be done!
Maybe a little car ride will pass the time????
After the cookies and cupcakes were ready we went out to eat...PG decided that he was so thirsty that PD's bottle with water in it was the perfect drink to satisfy himself. it's been a LONG time since he took one of those! :o)
Then we had Melissa keep Fish downstairs while we decorated...Here is her shocked face when we yelled "Happy Birthday" It was a great time! I hope you enjoyed it Fish!! :o)
Day 4...
Once again we thought we would give Mom a break from all the kids and Manda, Sara and I took the kids to the zoo...we started with 8 kids and 3 adults until Manda's friend joined us and made it 10 kids and 4 adults. It was tiring but a FUN day!
We started with a few animals then it was "feeding time at the zoo"!
Look what someone put out for the trash man! (ashton, jarom and sam)
Hey, those boxes aren't supposed to just get up and walk away...you would have thought we were at the circus not the zoo! Silly boys!
Sara, Ari, and Boo in front of the giraffes.
Here is PG and I with the "gerge"
Isn't it BEAUTIFUL! I am so proud of this picture. God made such wonderful things to take pictures of too!
Here is most of our group, sorry Angie, you got cut off on my camera...I hope it came out better on yours!
We saved the train ride for last...PG was SOOOOO happy to be on a train!
Here is Sara and her girls...CHOO-CHOO!!!
This is what happens when a toddler is told they can't ride the train anymore and they he trips on his shoe and is too tired to stand back up...Gotta love temper tantrums!
while we were at the zoo they finished shingeling the roof,
Good job!
(but I forgot to get a picture of the finished product...sorry!)
