Airplanes Freak!

The first video is of me at open cockpit day at some museum in CA, I can't remember what AFB it was but for $5 I got to sit in the SR-71 Blackbird. It was one of the coolest days of my life!!

the second one is a video that I shot from the end of the runway in Pittsburgh. I used to go out there and watch planes for hours and I loved every minute of it....come to think of it, I opened my mission call at the end of the runway! It is a good place.

Garen Claus...

This was SOOOO funny. Last night we were at Grandma and Papa Hook's house eating popcorn and hanging out. We were in the basement - it was cooler down there. PG goes over to the fireplace, and realizes that the door open. He stood up, peeked over the chair and yelled "BY-BYEEE!!!" So I gave my standard reply, "Bye-Bye, Have fun and be good" (he says bye-bye to me a lot!) and he ducted behind the chair...into the fireplace! It was WAY too cute and funny not to take a picture....and boy was he mad when I took him out! He liked his new house! I am such a Meany Mommy!!!

Reminders of the past and memories for the future!

On Saturday we went to our ward picnic. It turned out to be the ideal place to be. We had so much fun. It was like being transported back to my youth and going to an Memorial Day Picnic at Beaver Valley. Some may not find that to be a pleasant memory but I always loved it!!! When I got older the picnics dwindled and the fun faded but the ones I remember from when I was young were fantastic....Just like this one. I think the reason I liked it so much was that it had lots of activities and very little structure. Just enough structure to make things happen but no pressure to join everything! But all were welcome in whatever you did decide to join. There was face painting, soccer, football, balloon animals, sidewalk chalk, cotton candy, snowcones, tons of food, friendly faces, and WATER! IT was GREAT! Jon didn't think we would stay that long but he got into it and we had to leave because PG was PASSED his naptime. PG loved it too...he got to run free for 3 hours....and he got a snow cone! Thanks for everything...it was great!here is the face painting...I did the boys and PG painted his other cheek (with water) while KJ did my flower.

This is the "truck" that PG found...one of the men was getting a little annoyed that he kept wanting to play with it. But it was fine in the end, he got a snow-cone!
I think he really enjoyed the cupcake!
KJ and PG after they got off the water-slide...Yummy dirt!
(the water-slide was a HUGE piece of plastic that they put on a hill and sprayed with a hose,
as people stood in line and took their turn for the thrill of their life...
ok maybe not their life, but most likely their day or week! - and yes I would have gone, had it not been a danger to my health, or the health of the unborn!) :o)
(I know I am sooooo dramatic!!!)
Here is the video of KJ going down the slide the first time. They had a contest to see who could go the furthest on the grass...He got the record in this video...it was short lived but he was proud! He wasn't so happy about the scratches on his chest from sliding on the grass...it was pretty hurty...if you notice in the above picture...he put his shirt back on!
He had a FANTASTIC time though!

Chalk art!

It is kind of fun to live "downtown" Bountiful. I am able to walk around and ride my bike places more than drive. I got gas in my car yesterday and it had been 13 days since my last fill-up. PG also enjoys being outside riding in the stroller, or his bike or the bike trailer or just walking...with a monkey on his back (we have a kid leash - see the planetarium pictures). Anyway, In walking around main street the last few days the sidewalks have filled up with sidewalk chalk art, for the annual sidewalk chart art festival. Who has that? Apparently Bountiful! :o) But it was cool to walk around and see the different pictures. I took several pictures and I am mainly posting these for Melissa, I think there are several that you will enjoy. There are some that are so amazing you can hardly tell they are on the sidewalk. :o)
Having said that, I really do hope you ALL enjoy the pictures! :o)Pumpkin Patch

Random moments from the last few days!

I know, my life seems to be just a never ending blog of random moments. But they are what make up my existence. Without these random moments of whatever they happen to be...my life would really be nothing. My life really just consists of Going to the park, riding my bike pulling PG in the trailer, going for walks, or just sitting around in and outside being amused at whatever it is that PG has decided to do. He is getting into reading books a lot more these days and he is signing and talking a ton! Hopefully we can get a good video of him signing his new book, it is really cute when he signs "deer". On the up side to my mundane life, I am getting a really nice tan and a lot of exercise. :0) Ok, My life isn't really that bad, and this is what I have wanted to do my whole life. I am just being emotional right now - it is almost 1 am and I am as you can tell, not sleeping...even though I am exhausted...sleep does not come, so I thought I would try to be productive.
So, here it is...the random silliness from PG for the week. :o)
He is learning to walk his bike. I am so proud of him, we have been working on this concept for a while now and he is doing it.
Next step, Pedaling! He can get the bike to go about 3 inches using the pedals, which is a really good start...we just need to master it. I think it helps that he sits in a trailer behind my bike at least once a day and watches me and how I get the bike to move. :o)
Engineering minds at work!
I made a milkshake the other day for dinner and he drank a bit and when he decided he didn't want anymore....he painted it on his head with his thumb....
I have no idea where he comes up with these things!
He is also learned how to drink milk from the cereal bowl when the cereal is gone.
If only he could drink from a big boy cup and not spill as well as he does with the cereal bowl.
He knows that keys open things...he wanted to go back "aht" (out) and the door was locked, so he found my keys and spend 15 minutes trying to get them to open that darn door.
poor guy, he is so neglected....he had to stay in for an hour or 2.
And last but not least...he loves the broom!
We have a big broom and a little broom that goes with the dust pan, he swept the kitchen floor for an hour the other day (at least it seemed that long) and he is so cute.
Not to mention that it makes him happy!
When baby is happy...the mommy is happy!!!

PG reading his book!!!

He was being quiet while I was in the living room so I went to see what he was up, I found him sitting on the kitchen floor looking at his favorite book. So, I had to get a little video. Then I was discovered! But instead of stopping he started signing to me. It is really cool. He is doing so well with words and pointing and just being a big boy.
Good job little guy!!! Daddy and I love you LOTS!

Jobless...

KJ came home from work a little early yesterday....jobless...
Well until Monday morning when he starts his new job!
In the meantime we got to play for the afternoon. We took advantage of the time and went to the planetarium. We saw an IMAX show on Mummies, and surprisingly enough PG did a great job sitting and enjoying the movie...luckily about the time he started getting restless, it was over! :o)

After the show the boys got to walk on Mars....
cool rocks!
can you guess what on the Moon PG wanted? YEP! the "gruck"!!!
but the rocks were cool too!

corn, cuddling and accessories!

We had corn on the cob the other night...this was PG's first try at the cob!
He didn't want it cut off...after all that is not how we ate it! And he ate it remarkably well!

Look at that little smile! Isn't that cute? Hee hee!!!
When Daddy is laying on the couch, PG likes to cuddle with him...but only for about 5 seconds or until the camera comes out to capture the precious moment! I was able to get these 2...the pictures taken right after these (on both occasions are PG getting down!)
What wardrobe is complete without accessories...usually you encourage this type of thing on a girl but we don't have one yet and he is so darling with a hairbrush...
and he insisted on the headband...which he calls a "Hat"!
I love this kid!

28 Weeks!

I have made it this far. I feel a LOT bigger, faster this time but we are measuring right on and things are going well. :o) That is always nice to hear! She is moving around like crazy which I absolutely love. Over all things are well and I don't have much to complain about in the maternity department...except maybe, 1 pair of shorts is not going to cut it for the summer, but that is a fairly easy fix! :o)

Faithful companion cube!

This past week was Mindy's birthday, so I once again was commissioned to make a cake. There is this video game called "Portal" where you are stuck in an Aperture Science Lab and you are told that if you successfully complete the psychology testing you will get cake. It is a puzzle game where you have a portal gun that you shoot at different walls to complete the boards. On one of the boards you are given a faithful companion cube that is used to help you beat the board. KJ and Dave have been very excited about this game recently and Mindy has started to play it too. So, Dave wanted Mindy to have a companion cube for a cake.

I can not tell a lie. I used 2 cake mixes and it still wasn't perfectly square like a cube should be so I used KJ's suggestion and made it look like it was going through a portal. I think it came out great! Happy Birthday Mindy!
At her birthday party we have a pinata. This I think was technically PG's 2nd pinata...but last year he was only 5 months old...this year he got to take a whack at it on his own!
Derek got to take a swing or two on his own too. Everyone got their chance and the birthday girl knocked it down first but no candy so, KJ made everyone happy by getting to the candy for us! :o)

More Logan Fun!

This past weekend, my niece's husband graduated from USU! WOOHOOO!!!! So, to Logan we went. Because his Master's hooding was on Friday, only PG and I went up with Grandma and Papa. PG once again enjoyed getting outside. We found him a little pink scooter. In as much as he could care less about the color of the scooter....He was really longing for something else. David-Scott or Ashley's big bikes....
Fortunately he was a good sport and stayed on his scooter and scooted around until it was time to put it away...
Look at my little man cleaning up to go inside! Thanks David-Scott and Ashley for playing outside with PG, he had a great time!
After graduation was over, we were in want of some scenery and PG was in need of a nap, so we took a drive up Logan Canyon. We drove up to Bear Lake and looked around at the lookout, took a picture and headed back...in case you were wondering you can't get to Tony Grove yet! Unless you have a snowmobile! :o)
This is just a picture that I snapped at one of my favorite places in the canyon, the Bat Caves. It is just so beautiful, I thought I would share!

bikes and poop!

So, KJ decided to test out the new bike trailer...he felt a little like "Pee-Wee Herman" on my bike...so this is what happens....
Now, this is KJ's best friend Isaiah. Isaiah's wife is pregnant and due about 6 weeks before us...and he, the poor deprived soul, has never changed a diaper in his life....so while they were over the other night KJ taught him how to change a poopy diaper. Maybe we should have been nice and eased him into the whole diaper changing thing with a normal wet one but, he can be a turkey sometimes so why not initiate him completely!

He even made it! Lots of sighs and screeches of disgust but PG stayed still for him and they got it done!
Congrats Isaiah on your first poopy diaper! May you be successful as you will have to change many more!!! :o)

This is our little piano man! I just can't resist these pictures...they are so cute! We go to the park and he doesn't want to run and climb and slide, he wants to play the piano that is there. He is amazing, and he just GRINS from ear to ear when he gets to play! Fun Stuff!
