Happy Birthday Garen!!

Yesterday was PG's 1st birthday...man how time flies!!! He has come a long way in a year! We had his birthday party on Saturday, (it is easier to get people to come to a party on sat. instead of a Tuesday!) Anyway, it was a lot of fun! Here is PG's cake. I had a good time with it. I love the silly feet cupcake holders...they are not really cheap but WAY cute. So I made them into little Cookie Monsters. :o) I love funfetti cake!! :o)
We sang and I helped him blow out the candle. He wasn't quite sure what to think about the fire. On Monday, I had a candle burning and he kept pointing at it and wanted it, so I sat down and put him on my lap and pulled the candle closer so he could see it....when I pulled it closer, he make a little blow...trying to blow it out. It was sooo cute! Too bad he wouldn't do that on Saturday. :o)
Then it was time to devour it!! YUMMY!
REALLY YUMMY!!
He tried to pick up the ice cream but it wouldn't come off the plate so he picked up the plate and just licked it from there. :o) nothing like a ice cream plate cone! :o) After the cake and ice cream, he got a bath...it took 10 minutes to get all the icing out of his nose! :o) Then it was time for presents!
He got a trike for his birthday, this is what he thought of the directions for assembly...they came as 1 page! :o)
Daddy put it together and WA-LA!
The bike is nice cuz it had a parent handle so we don't have to break our backs to help him ride it. it is cute! He really likes it too!
All the kids at the party were having fun with his new toys...The pig was a big hit! PG likes his flashlight too...it lights up and twinkles in the dark, it is very fascinating to him!
Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate this big day with our big guy! We really appreciate your love and support! :o) WE LOVE YOU!!! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The other day I was working in the computer room, when PG joined me. He has a new found love for climbing! He climbed up on the little bench where the printer sets and was working hard to get it to work! It was very funny!

He also decided he should help me sew my new skirt that I was making for Family pictures/Christmas. Every time I would lay the fabric out, he would walk over, sit down and pull the edges up over his lap. It was very funny, but not very helpful! He really like the measuring tape too....he walked around with that for about an hour. He was so proud of himself for being such a good helper! :o)

Notice once again his new found love for climbing. He climbed up the chair onto the arm rest then onto the cabinet then played with the wires for the surround sound...now this was not being helpful, for it caused some problem where you could not turn up the volume on the tuner passed like 2 or 3 because it would kick itself off! Less than helpful, but fortunately we have a very smart King in our midst and he made it ALL better! :o) 3 cheers for KJ!!
Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray!
Wwe had Thanksgiving dinner with Jon's Mom's family, it was very nice. Jon and Dave got to see a cousin they hadn't seen in a long time and that was fun for them. Then we went up to Logan and hung out with Joy and her family. (we had to do our annual midnight hot chocolate run to 7/11) We got up there right as they were eating dinner too...yes, more food!! (yikes!) :o) anyway, we got a tour of Joy's new house and PG found the shop vac...it has wheels! He was so happy pushing it around in the basement. :o)
The next day was of course black Friday....Joy and Melissa decided they would brave the adventure with me....At Walmart, people were trampling other people just to get what they want! It was sad...but I did get a tonka truck for PG for Christmas for $10! YAY! We also spend a few hours in JoAnn Fabrics. Flannel for $.99/yard!!! It was great! There is nothing like a good adventure! :o)
As it appears that Jon and Darin will attest too! Melissa metioned how she used to climb between the bars under the table and play, so KJ decided to see if he could do it...unfortunately his bone structure has widened over the years...

Darin's too....But they did have fun trying! :o)

Ashley wasn't feeling good so while she was sleeping in bed with her Dad, that left her toys open for the playing....PG took advantage of this uninterrupted play time! :o)

Back when we were talking about PG being very helpful, this is another prime example! He wanted to help Darin with his homework! (really he wanted to help him type on his computer!) so Darin got creative instead of frustrated! PG didn't seem to mind much, he likes shoulder rides! (sorry Darin, but good work! Your going to make a great Dad!)

Fun weekend!

This is our sleeping beauty! He was just so cute, I had to take a pic! I think he loves his George.
I went to Cedar city with some of my family and PG stayed home with daddy. It was kind of hard, I have never left him that long before. (not to mention...look how cute he is!) It was hard for him too....But Daddy did a great job! :o) KJ, your the best!!! :o)
The other day Sam and Jarom came to play at our house. Sam loved pushing the stroller around the driveway, after he swept the porch...Jarom was quite content to play in the dirt...Garen, just wanted to eat the dirt! :o)
This is Jarom and Garen being cute at Grandma's house! They are so sweet!
We caught a fish...and it was THHHIIIIIIISSSSSSS BIG!!!! Ashton, Sam, PG and Ransom...ready to see the dinos! :o)
Yesterday, we went to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. It was kind cool...but a little lame. This Dave, Sam and Jarom...being scared of the dino!!! ROAR!!!
After we walked around and saw all the dinos we let the kids play at the playground. PG was very, very, very excited to get out of the stroller, run around and eat sand! He loves to do what the big boys do...and somethings that they don't do! :o)

cool dude!

Look at our big boy. I helped him sit on the stool in the bathroom, he sat there kicking his feet and smiling, so proud of himself! He is funny for sure!
Look at me, I am a COOL DUDE!!! I put my sunglasses on PG, he would give this cheezey grin, he was soo cute!!
Mom and Dad came to have dinner with us and we were watching a movie, "the ultimate gift" and eating popcorn. He is definately from the Hook family, he is a popcorn monger just like the rest of us. He was just happy as can be eating handfuls of popcorn at a time sharing the bowl with grandma....
He also decided to be nice and share her drink with her too. He is too funny. He wanted a drink so she helped him, then he saw her take a drink so he decided to help her too! He is very kind! Fortunately nobody got a bath...grandma was amused and PG was so excited to be the big helper boy!
Until next time, hope you have great adventures and happiness! :o)

carrots and candy....

So, on Sunday we got together to celebrate our November birthdays. I made carrot cake. For the last 10 years or so I have been allergic to carrots. So, I haven't eaten carrots for a long time! Well, I decided to give it a try last week to see if whatever it was, was over! IT WAS!!! So, I made carrot cake to celebrate! :o) YAY for carrots!!! Ashton and PG were the only 2 Nov. b-days present at the party...so, they got to blow out the candles.Ashton being the seasoned b-day boy knew just what to do with those candles...PG on the other hand...wanted to touch it, we will have to work on blowing the next few weeks so he will be all practiced up for the real thing! :o)
These two are crazy! They have so much fun together, it is great. They took Grandma's wicker beehives and used them as hats! They sure are perdy! :o)
On Tues. PG and I went out to Manda's for Ashton's "real" b-day party. Ashton passed out a few candy bracelets. After a while of wearing his, he got tired of it and set it down on the coffee table. wouldn't you know it, it wasn't too much longer and "Mr. Fingers" (aka PG) got a hold of it and the Hello kitty charm was about gone by the time we found out that he had it. Ashton was sad but PG was HAPPY! You can see how much he enjoyed it! There is dried sugar all over his face, hands and carseat straps. It was very cute.
The one on the Left is what it started out as, the one on the Right...what was left! Sorry Ashton! :o)
Then this morning PG woke up happy. (He has had a really bad cold for the last week or so, and hasn't been eating or doing much of anything like he normally does.) Anyway, I set KJ's lunch down in the hall so I could use the bathroom. He found Daddy's lunch and started walking around with it, all proud of himself for being such a big boy! He is a big boy and a happy cute one at that! Until next time, I hope you enjoyed our adventures and have a few of your own! :o)

04 November 2007

day after halloween...

So, we didn't really go trick or treating...we just visited the grandma's and grandpa's. PG doesn't need the candy and neither do I! It all worked out anyway, we had some left overs from our lack of trick-or-treaters! (we had like 8 kids come) anyway, the morning after when PG got up, he found the bucket of leftovers and decided they would make a tasty breakfast! too bad the wrapper wouldn't come off!
He looked too cute in this outfit with the hood up he looks like a bubble bee...and what a cute bee he is!
He was playing on the ball with daddy, you just can't see daddy holding him up. I suppose that is normal though, Heavenly Father holds us up all the time and He is never seen. :o) I am grateful for Heavenly Father and the power of the priesthood. We have all been under the weather the last week or more and PG got a blessing last night cuz he was running a fever and couldn't breathe or sleep. After the blessing he went right to be and woke up fever free. God is good, and he sure does love us all! :o)

unwanted forest...

So, we have these really annoying trees in the front...they "sow their wild oats" so to speak and over the last 4 months a small forest has grown beside the garage and in a few other areas of the yard....UGH!

Can you find KJ? He is in the forest somewhere....the forest that was about to become no more! This is how thick it was and it ran the whole side of the garage and all around the Ungerman's camper. I really do not like these type of trees...they really are a pain in the carcass!
So here we go...I got over my fear of power tools and started up the chainsaw and started working through the unwanted forest. Wee, this is fun....sorta!
KJ seems to be enjoying it much more! Look at that face of joy....POWER TOOLS, YEAH! (sure beats trying to fell the forest with lobing sheers!)
TA DADA DADA DA!!! The forest is no more after about 2 hours of choppin' and clearing! It looks like brand new! I really hate that tree, in 2 weeks we will probably have to do it again! YUCK!! - - but on the bright side - - IT IS BEAUTIFUL right now!!!!
This is the hero of our unwanted forest...our very own "Strong Man!" KJ with the last of the trees from the back, headed to the brush pile! YAY, Strong Man!!!
While Strong Man was cutting down the last of the trees in the back he found a nest with eggs...we don't know what lived there...but I think they have moved on!
PG had to come and help once he woke up, (sleeping was really the biggest help!!! :oD ) Anyway, he found this gate and he looked so cute trying to go through it. He really is a delight! I true prince!
That is all for now, until our next adventure... have a great day and we love you! :o)
